This is why everybody has the obligation to go to school. Therefore, education system shall be considerate seriously. In What Our Education System Needs is More Fs, Carl Singleton suggests that our education system need to be improved by failing students. He states that teachers have tendency to pass unfaithfully students for more than 20 years, which means that teachers pass students who dont deserve to pass. The reason is that teachers dont want to feel guilty by failing them, so they quite change their grading standard. Another reason to increase the number of grade F is to eliminate illiterate graduate students from high school. Therefore, students who deserve to go to college will be able to read and write well. He also mentioned that the grade F would pull the parents attention to their childrens education, and makes the school boards and principals aware of the degradation of the education system. Finally, Singleton proposes that all teachers should respect the standard grading line in order to keep the education system in a good shape. Singletons arguments imply that the education system is getting worse from days to days because there are more and more graduates with lower quality knowledge. He also conveys that teachers easily pass students because teachers want to have a lower rate of failed students in their class, and proving that their teaching methods are efficient. Without Fs nobody would knows that the systems is in troubles. Moreover, school board and principal would ignore the issue, which help to save money and avoid futures difficulties management such as overload classes with those who have to repeat the class.
